Will I ever be pretty....to you?
20/30 - Overall Design:
I've been staring at this layout for about five minutes trying to figure out why I don't think it's awesome. It has a lot of cool bits; frayed edges on the graphics that mesh into your background, a washed out image of a woman, but.. too much seems to clash.
20/20 - Functional:
Tres functional.
5/10 - Aesthetic:
No matter how much I want to, I can't like the image. It looks like someone took a black and white photo, washed it with red dye, then wrote "will I ever be pretty? to you?" in poofy letters with a black permanent marker. The image itself is of a blurred starlet with a cigarette holder. It just doesn't seem to fit. With another picture, or different colors and font, it could work, but... this just doesn't seem to. Or, alternately, get rid of the image behind your entry, and change the text color. The main image will be much easier to accept if you do that.
20/20 - Navigation:
Very simple. A drop down menu without too many links to make it a pain.
10/10 - Originality:
This layout is grunge meets hollywood. Extremely original, and if it works for you, keep it.
5/10 - Browser Compatible:
On my comp, the text isn't aligned properly with the background image, making it impossible to read the left portion of your text. If you change the font color to something other than black, you can easily prevent that problem, without trying to make the page align on every browser, (is that even possible?).
