30/30 - Overall Design:
I love it. I adore it. It's clever, it's smart, it's dark and it has nice colors. I could say more, but that pretty much covers it.
20/20 - Functional:
And how. Navigation to the left entry to the write, clever image on top. What's not to understand?
10/10 - Aesthetic:
If the sign you're sporting is your favorite, then it's my favorite now, too. You did quite well at selecting colors for this layout, and I'm thanking the god of web design for inspiring you to use a non-american street sign. I don't know that I could handle yellow neon.
20/20 - Navigation:

Of course. And you say that it requires a big monitor, but I imagine it would look okay in 800x600. In otherwords, it's hunky dory in my big intimidating book.
